There are many beaches to hang out naturally on the Big Island. Here are some recommendations! The truth is, East Hawaii is full of beautiful natural pristine beaches to "Hang Loose". caves and many little ocean oasis to hang loose privately and naturally only to be entertained by the native bird, turtles and dolphins.

If you are looking for miles of private little coves, rocks, caves and beaches to explore then this is the trail. There awesome lava stone walls built overlooking these ancient fishing grounds end even some remnants of World War 2 gunner bunkers to see among the huge Blue Banyan Forests. There are many comfortable private nooks to peel off the clothes and catch some rays while taking in the views.

The old Puna Trail dates back to the 1830's. A fun coastal ride through fields of wild orchids, rainforest canopy and mud puddles. Trail ends at beautiful Haena Beach (Not a Naturist / Nude Beach). This is a Nene goose sanctuary and you can sometimes see the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. Please do not trespass on the Shipman Estate. (5 miles each way / 1.5 hours round trip.)
